Spring is finally here!!!!

I have been busy this weekend! I took the day off from work on Saturday and attended a TEA PARTY. I don't know if you have heard of these yet but you will! It's basically a protest against the economic policies of the new administration. I was very interested to learn the the alien and sedition act was overturned because of public outcry that started one block away from where we stood in Lexington, KY! I'm proud to be a Kentuckian today!

I also have received my March spotted box but will post that entry later this week.

We also had new carpet installed and had the step-grandbaby for the night. We had decided to do nothing today but we couldn'r resist getting some work done outside since it's beautiful today. Usually I don't consider gardening work but I actually worked very hard today.

As you can see from the photo I harvested some roots today. The white roots on the left are marshmallow roots, upper right is echinacea, lower right is comfrey. I have these all cleaned and drying. Probably on Wednesday I will start an awesome infusion for an all purpose first aid salve. I will use the above roots and leaves, plus chickweed, calendula, plantain, goldenseal, yarrow and St John's oil. This will be cooling, soothing, antibacterial, healing, moisturizing and stypitic. Perfect for cuts, scrapes, etc. I will also add some lavender and tea tree oil.

Don't forget to post comments for a chance to win the monthly giveaway and questions are always welcomed!
