Sugar Body Scrub

I know everyone is rushing around trying to get ready for the holidays. Why not take a little time to relax and pamper yourself a little. Here is a pleasant treatment to relieve dry skin.

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil

optional additions
20 drops essential oil
a squirt of liquid castile soap

You can use sugar from the kitchen. If you want a light conditioning oil try grapeseed, almond, hazlenut, or apricot kernel oil, but olive oil will work, too. Some nice essential oils would be lavender or petitgrain to relax or if you want to wake up try some rosemary or eucalyptus oil. If you choose to use the liquid soap it will prevent the oil from sticking to the bath tub. Any way, combine all your ingredients in a glass bowl and take it into the bathroom near the tub so you can reach. Turn the shower on and thoroughly wet your skin. Turn the shower off and grab your bowl. Scoop out a handful of the mixture and scrub away starting with your feet and working your way up. Be gentle and avoid sensitive areas, don't use this on your face or throat. After you have applied the scrub all over turn the water back on and rinse all the sugar off. After you get out of the shower and dry off your skin will be soft and glowing. This treatment exfoliates dead skin and works the oil into your skin. You'll probably have leftovers. Just put it in an airtight container and use it later. I do this on my hands twice a week and all over twice a month. You won't bleive the difference in your skin!

Happy Holidays!
